Mommy Wants Vodka

…Or A Mail-Order Bride

Reefer Madness

May16

So my new friend Edward Alexander tagged me for a meme. And since I heart new people, I will happily oblige.

4 things I did 10 years ago: (1998)
1. Graduated High School (shit, has it really been that long?)
2. Smoked oodles of marijuana.
3. It’s a blur. See #2
4. No clue. See #2

4 things I did 5 years ago: (2003)
1. I met The Daver (again, REALLY?)
2. Got engaged
3. Had my very first colonoscopy!
4. Was diagnosed with small bowel Crohn’s disease

4 things I did yesterday:
1. Got my white patent leather go-go boots in the mail. I may very well look like a transvestite in them, but I don’t care.
2. Cleaned up massive craptastrophes. Interestingly, none of my own.
3. Paid someone to mow my lawn WITHOUT feeling guilty about it. Okay, I felt a LITTLE guilty. The lawn was so long that the puppy could get lost in it.
4. Ate glorious McDonald’s for dinner WITHOUT going off my diet!

4 shows I love to watch:
1. House, M.D.
2. American Idol
3. The Girls Next Door
4. Rock of Love

So I’m supposed to tag some people to do this incredibly thought-provoking meme, but really what I’m interested in is what YOUR answers are to this. Yes, YOU, my sweet and wonderous readers. So leave me a comment answering a couple of these if you want.

Aunt Becky would love you forever and ever.

Ten years ago — end of my freshman year of college. I had short hair (think Yentl), a boyfriend who has about to break up with me simply by deciding to never call me again, and was about to start an exciting summer of babysitting.

Five years ago – end of my first year of marriage. Moving to new apartment, adopting two glorious kittens, otherwise quite lonely.

Yesterday – checked my bank account 400 times to see if my stimulus package had arrived, cleaned the bathroom, dyed my hair, listened to my roommate describe her panic attack after seeing a large spider crawl into her car. Cuddled my honey.

4 Shows I Love to Watch – (have I mentioned I’m a nerd?) – Antiques Roadshow, Flight of the Conchords, true crime anything, Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares on BBC America.

-Was a sophomore at my high school for science and technology geeks
-Met what would become my whiny assed wussy high school boyfriend (a.k.a. The Crier)
-“borrowed” my moms car, broke off the side mirror backing it out of the garage and managed to covince her it had happened at her works parking garage (I still can’t believe I got away with that)
-my favorite teacher gave me the master key to the school – the secret of my pranking genius in high school

-I was in my junior year of college
-found out the mystery bacteria I was supposed be identifying for my micro lab was actually responsible for me being sick for six months. (Pseudomonas aeuriginosas in case you were wondering).
-Decided I would rather have a life than continue to be a premed student
-painted my ex boyfriends car with acid for never returning my collection of vinyl records (being a science nerd has its perks – access to ridiculously strong acid for one)

    yesterday
    -Calibrated my pipettes at work
-applied for a marriage license for a courthouse wedding
-reassured my parents that I was not pregnant – but simply want to get married and avoid the poufy white dress thing (and the whole people looking at me thing)
-drank an excessive amount of iced coffee – its 95 effing degrees here in Oregon. Gah!

    4 shows
    -Top Gear on BBA
-The Office ( I heart Stanley)
    – Gilmore Girls
    – Pinks!

    Happy Friday Aunt Becky!

Goodness gracious! I have to see you in those boots and where can I get a pair, I think they would go smashingly with my belly!

10 years ago, almost exactly, I broke my foot while chasing my 3 year old down the hall.
    We moved 2 days later
I was by myself (with 3 year old and baby) as my hubby had gone on ahead.
5 years ago, as I mourned my Kalila, (on her 1st birthday, as that was the only day that month I saw my hubby, he was working out of town) I conceived baby number 4, the Monkey boy.
And we made the decision to home educate our kids and that I wasn’t going back to University for a few more years.
Yesterday I bitched and whined because we really need to go grocery shopping and I can’t do it myself right now and I hate waiting for it to be convenient to my dh.
And I enjoyed the beautiful sunshine and 85 degree weather.
Hope your week is going well.

    2. Five years ago…just bought second house, was preggo with last baby (#4) and didn’t know it.
Renovating, renovating and more renovating which is why pregnancy didn’t come onto radar for another month lol.

    3. Yesterday I drove kids around last pick-up was 10pm (yes I said 10 pm) and made lasagna. I have a crazy high class life, yes I do!

    4. I only really watch Lost and Samantha Who? and flip thru many others. And HGTV – see I’m a sucker for the renovating.

Cewl questions! And I want to see a picture of you and the gogo boots!

Seriously, I graduated 15 years ago. How’s that for feeling old?!

I’m so old I can’t even remember anything of importance I did ten years ago, or five years ago, and as far as yesterday goes I going to say I took a shower only because I’m really not sure and I know I haven’t taken one today and didn’t want to gross anyone out or anything just in case! So that’s my answer and I’m sticking to it. Yesterday, I took a shower.

I’m all over the favorite TV shows though like stink on shit (or my ass if indeed I didn’t take a shower yesterday).

    1. The Real World – yep, I said I graduated 15 years ago and I like this show. What of?
    2. Days of our Lives – Watched it since I was a wee lass of 12.
    3. Big Brother – Let’s just face it, I’m a reality show whore. Go ahead and add Survivor here too.
    4. The Riches and Desperate Housewives have to tie right here. They are must sees for me!
