Mommy Wants Vodka

…Or A Mail-Order Bride

Um, Yeah, Hi Winter, I’m Totally Over You.

February6

The first snow around here is always a magical time in my head. It reminds me of childhood excitement (maybe, just MAYBE school will be cancelled tomorrow!) and of the holidays and it makes even the homeless people look pretty.

That said, the older I get, the more winter seems to drag the fuck on.

If it’s not butt-assed cold, it’s icy, if it’s not icy, it’s snowing, if it’s not snowing, then the yellow snow and grime are making the world look to be an ugly place. And the boogies STILL freeze in your nose when you pop outside (and even clad in Burberry’s finest, how dignified can you look with a nose full of frozen boogers?).

Mr. Yucks.

The Weather Man is calling for another 12 inches today (but we all know how wrong HE can be), and as far as I’m concerned, he can kiss my flabby white butt. Winter sucks.

So what’s winter like where YOU live?

Did you read my blog today? Read it. Are you living in my brain? I think so. LOL.

Big Snow, Heavy Fog, Thunderstorms, High Winds, More Snow… Shall I go on? And that’s only in the last week. February is the suck and the squelch.

LOL… winter is just ugly here in southern Ontario… but when I lived up north; whole ‘nother story!

-35 to -40 was fairly common (and yes, I wore miniskirts in that!) and I’ve seen -60 (brrr)
    snowbanks taller than me!
snow from late september until mid april (at least!) and you could find patches of it in the bush until mid-june.

Boogies froze in your nose in about 4 seconds flat.

    Damn I miss the north!

How about you guys all come to my house and I can go to yours. We can Time share winter.
Current temperature in my backyard: 81 effing degrees & HUMID as a mofo.

Seriously- I will trade with any of you guys. Do you have any idea how annoying it is to wear a tank top in early February??

Well, there was no snowfall in January, and there should have been. I’d say it’s been a disappointment.

Yep, we’re expecting 12 inches here in Southern Wisconsin as well. It is mental outside. They NEVER cancel class at UW-Madison(evidently the last time they did, students made a big ruckus about wanting their tuition money back for the day they missed, which is complete bullshit), even though they’re canceled today at every K-12 school in the southern part of the state and at all of the nearby UW branches. The campus is kind of a ghost town even though classes were canceled — people trying to stay upright in the wind off the lake.

And here I am, at work. Sucks.

It is 55 degrees here in NJ today. It was freaking thundering this morning! It is much more like Spring than winter.

At the moment it is in the mid-30’s and raining but they are forecasting about 12-15 inches of snow between tonight and tomorrow here…typical New England winter (and I’ve had QUITE enough of it this year…where is spring?)

It sucks down here. Apparently, rather than snow in January/February (like we used to get) we get erratic temperatures of 75! one day and 30 the next. And, oh yeah, did I mention TORNADOS?!

I live in a total shithole. even when the sun is out and it’s 75 degrees the place still sucks. I do agree with you though. I’m done with winter. I’m so tired of being cold all of the time. heating an old home is just too expensive. I am forever clad in multiple polar fleece layers.

Pretty much the way you described. Sigh.

    It’s like this:
WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY for all of WNY and Northern PA until 6 AM Thursday. Travel will be EXTREMELY Hazardous this evening due to freezing rain and sleet. Occasional strong wind gusts may also produce spotty power outages.

This is the THIRD incident of this in 5 days. Fucking ground hog (OMG, did I swear?)

I was soooo not going to say it, but YOU MADE ME! It’s been in the mid-70’s and lightly blustery for like 3 days. Course, now ya’ll have sent the pain, and the temp dropped over night. It was 63 today. Gotta love the deep South. If you can put up with the ominous banjo in the background, it’s awesome!

I’m with you…I’m totally over winter. I used to love it, think it was what made Canada special. Now I think it just makes Canada cold and the people cranky! 😉

We’re getting freezing rain & snow…2 for 1. Oh yay.

Winter is perfect here, mostly. (70’s, for most of the time.) But it’s our reward for dealing with summers that make hell seem pleasant!

It was 70 degrees here yesterday… Kind of windy though….

I am with you! This has been one of the worst in a while! Ugh… I cannot wait for 70’s and sunny… maybe a winter rain? Ohhhhh… I am in need to some sunshine!
